Graphic Series VIII by Linda Grüneberg is a tribute to the art of weaving and its design principles, particularly inspired by the colors and forms of the Bauhaus. At the heart of her artistic exploration is the method of design.

Pattern paper serves as the basis for her creations, a tool used in traditional weaving to design textile patterns. Grüneberg translates this grid into the linocut technique by preparing the printing block with a laser-cut, intricate grid structure.

Her works develop from simple shapes and fundamental rules, inspired by historical examples such as Gunta Stölzl's tapestry "5 Chöre" (5 Choirs). The result is works whose geometric aesthetic and minimalist expression capture the core ideas of Bauhaus textiles.

The patterns are created by the artist applying cut stencils precisely onto the paper's pre-defined grid using a stippling brush or stamping technique. The finished graphics are neither descriptive nor figurative and do not convey direct emotions. They possess an autonomous, self-contained quality and aim to depict beauty and harmony.

Each individual sheet is handmade and unique.
