The original woodcut 27/7/25 by Hanna Sass dates, as the title of the work already mentions, from 2025. The artist Hanna Sass uses the traditional method of multi-colored woodcut, thus creating a unique connection between a gestural and expressive way of working and the traditional woodcut technique, originally intended for reproduction.

Hanna Sass works on the printing blocks in a brutal manner with angle grinders, knives, and wood chisels. The emphasized physical labor is in a tense contrast to the careful printing process, in which usually several plates are printed one after another.

After each printing process, the artist continues to work on the printing blocks, thus using a sub-form of woodcut, namely the so-called lost-block technique. Lost because the individual intermediate stages are lost and the process, contrary to the traditional intention of reproduction, cannot be repeated.
