Christoph Liedtke presents new works in his solo exhibition “DAS MAL.” Among them is the five-part polyptych “Gen Ginnungagap,” a painterly journey to the edge of the world interwoven with quotations by the Halle-based poet Wilhelm Bartsch from his poetry collection 'Hohe See und niemands Land.'
In this exhibition, as in his painting in general, Christoph Liedtke explores and questions the term “Mal” (“mark,” “painting,” or “trace”) as the intrinsic element in the act of painting itself.
A colored trace, a trail born from the act of a necessary movement of the subject within its present. What distinguishes the painting from the image?
The exhibition opens on November 14, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. with a poetry performance by Kristina Buketova and Christoph Liedtke.
We look forward to seeing you there!
