On November 29, 2025, Halle will once again open its doors to art: For the 21st time, the Long Night of Galleries invites visitors on a special stroll through Halle's art scene. This year, 24 galleries, studios, art dealerships, and shops featuring fine, applied, and decorative art are participating in the traditional event, which always takes place on the Saturday before the first Advent.

From 5 PM to 10 PM, visitors can experience art in all its facets – in a relaxed atmosphere, with mulled wine, pastries, and inspiring conversations with artists and gallerists. The Long Night of Galleries thus offers not only insights into current artistic positions but also the opportunity to experience art directly, discuss it, and perhaps acquire a piece or two. Many of the participating institutions have been established figures in Halle's art landscape for years – at the same time, new venues and ideas are constantly being added, enriching the evening with fresh impulses and keeping the format alive.
What was launched in 2004 by Thomas Steuber (Galerie Nord) and other Halle gallerists has developed into a firm fixture in the city's cultural calendar. Since 2015, the event format has been organized and continued by Kulturfalter. With over 2500 visitors annually, the Long Night of Galleries is one of Halle's largest and most popular art events.
The concept is compelling due to its blend of openness and intimacy: Instead of large shuttle tours, the evening focuses on a leisurely, individual walking discovery tour. This creates a special, almost familial atmosphere that allows for an intensive acquaintance with artworks, handmade pieces, and the people behind them. In 2025, there will again be an impressive variety to see: painting, graphics, photography, sculpture, jewelry, fashion, handicrafts, and design – each participating gallery sets its own priorities and often complements the offerings with small exhibitions, music, or special events.

The evening is organized by Kulturfalter in close cooperation with the Hallescher Kunstverein e.V., Galerie Paul Scherzer, and Galerie Nord. For initiator Thomas Steuber, the Long Night of Galleries has long been more than just an event date: "It is a snapshot of Halle's gallery scene, which is constantly changing – a living mirror of the cultural life in our city."
Anyone who wants to feel the creativity of Halle will find the best opportunity to do so on this evening – right in the heart of the city, in the brightly lit galleries, studios, and workshops that make Halle what it is: a city that lives art.
